Match Report - Small Schools Football Festival

On Tuesday last week the football team played in a small schools tournament at Hartford High School.

Captained by Harry Banks the team got off to a flying start winning their first game 4-0. They followed this with another win and a draw before losing their two matches against Little Leigh.

Interviewed post match, Reuben explained what made Little Leigh such strong opponents “They’ve got fantastic ball skills and are great dribblers”.

Joe reflected on the fact that this was the first time these players have played as a team “Although we don’t usually play as a team with Reuben and George, we played really well and can build on this. We can’t wait to take part in more tournaments”.

The message from the team to the rest of the school is “We played well but with more players we could do even better. Come and join us at football club or sign up for match play!”

The full team was: Harry Banks (Captain), Joe Clewes, Reuben Daniels-Burstow, George Nixon, Samuel Buckley, Alfie McQueen, Zachary Moores and Matthew Bailey
