Safeguarding

At Great Budworth Church of England Primary School, the Governing Body, Headteacher and all members of staff place a high level of importance on the safeguarding of all those within our school community.  Our safeguarding policy is available to download via the link below.  It is reviewed annually.

Our primary concern when setting our Safeguarding Policy is to ensure that all pupils are safe and are happy, in order that they can thrive as individuals and achieve their full academic potential.  This is underpinned by the Christian values that run through all aspects of our school life and are summed up in our school motto "By God's grace we learn to love and we love to learn."

The Headteacher and those Governors involved in recruitment have all undergone Safer Recruitment Training.  All staff and Governors regularly undertake Safeguarding Training and receive updates from the Head on individual cases as deemed appropriate and necessary.  The Head works closely with other agencies when this is required and staff have been keen to set up programmes to help Young Carers in the school.

Attendance is monitored closely and reported to the Governing Body regularly.  The physical security of our school site has been updated over the last few years and visitors to the school have to sign in and clearly wear badges. Volunteers working in the school are closely supervised and are DBS checked.

The Governing Body has recently undertaken training in relation to the Prevent Duty and are in the process of completely a Prevent Risk Assessment.  The Prevent Lead for the school is our Headteacher, Sandra Finney.

Should you have any safeguarding concerns about a pupil at the school, please in the first instance contact Mrs Sandra Finney, the Headteacher.  The Safeguarding Governor is the Rev'd Alec Brown who can be contacted via the school office, or via St Mary's and All Saints Church, Great Budworth.
